Key Assets Newfoundland and Labrador (KANL) provides specialized care and support services to young people and families with complex needs. Recruitment and Assessment Social Worker – Permanent Full Time Position

The Recruitment and Assessment Social Worker conducts comprehensive assessments on potential family-based carers and respite providers, including written assessment reports with supporting documentation. The Assessment Social Worker is responsible for conducting annual reviews on approved family-based carers, evaluating their progress over the pastyear based on the 5 PRIDE (Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education) competencies. The Assessment Social Worker also conducts interviews with family-based carers following a placement disruption. The Assessment Social Worker will represent KANL in the community or in interagency activities and participate in recruitment initiatives, as well as other duties and responsibilities as required. This position is part of the Assessment team, reporting to the Assessment and Placement Manager.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:
• A Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• A minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate experience is required to be eligible for application.
• Must be a current registered member in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW).
• Strong preference will be given to candidates who are PRIDE pre-service facilitators as well as experience doing PRIDE assessments, or other in-depth biopsychosocial assessments would be considered an asset.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must have highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills. Must be a talented multi-tasker and an independent worker who is adept at working on a team.

Additional Requirements:
• Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP
• Child Protection Clearance Check granting clearance
• Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Driver’s License
• Drivers Abstract
• Valid Proof of Canadian Residency
• Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability
• Provide proof of 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccination
