The Executive Leadership team for Key Assets in Canada are invested in being an industry leader, developing innovative programs and services and growing across Canada. We have consistently demonstrated our commitment to collaborating with local governments and community partners leading to better outcomes for children and families.
Our executive leadership team’s values align with the Key Assets Purpose and pledges and we have a passionate commitment to the strategic imperative of being an inclusive, equitable, diverse and anti-racist organization. We are proud of the work of Key Assets and continuously excited by the enthusiasm of our creative, dynamic staff and carers and our inspiring children and youth.
Our leadership structure combines local decision-making with central oversight, supported by a shared services team of professionals. Provincial Directors and their local leadership teams are actively engaged with local partners ensuring continuous monitoring and evaluation of our services to meet local needs. We are continuously exploring ways to partner and develop services to better our communities and address gaps in services.

Cathy Morris
CEO, Key Assets CanadaCathy brings a multitude of expertise and experience as an administrator and leader, particularly in supporting families in child protection and in-care at the regional, provincial, and national level. Cathy is highly skilled and knowledgeable in trauma response, assessment, investigations, policy and program development, child protection programming, legislation and regulatory requirement in the provision of services to vulnerable children, youth and families. She was instrumental in developing the first Child, Youth and Family Regulations for family-based and residential care in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2019.
Cathy cares deeply about the well-being of children, youth, and families. She is a provincial, national, and global trauma responder and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association in Canada. Cathy currently volunteers with several agencies and boards both at the provincial and national level and is a member of the national Sexual Assault Investigations Review Committee with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Krista Mogridge
Director, Key Assets CanadaKrista is deeply committed to the best interests of children, youth, and families, emphasizing the importance of positive, healthy connections. She brings invaluable insights into the experiences of Indigenous communities, including the impacts of intergenerational trauma and colonization. Krista understands the critical role of cultural connections for Indigenous children and youth and is passionate about working collaboratively to support and maintain these connections.

Cassandra Duignan
Provincial Director, Key Assets OntarioCassandra (Cassi) joined the Key Assets Ontario team in 2012, shortly after its establishment. Throughout her career at Key Assets, she has taken on various leadership roles, culminating in her appointment as Provincial Director in July 2021. Cassi holds a Child and Youth Care Diploma from Humber College. As a passionate, dynamic, and equitable leader, Cassi is committed to fulfilling the organization’s Purpose: “to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities.”
Cassi is dedicated to supporting families through their fostering journey. Whether it is a family’s first time pursuing fostering or they have been with Key Assets for years, she emphasizes the importance of collaboration to ensure a meaningful and rewarding experience. Recognizing that people are at the heart of Key Assets’ work, Cassi is committed to listening, learning, and working together with families to achieve positive outcomes for all.

Tamsyn Brennan
Provincial Director, Key Assets Nova ScotiaTamsyn brings an impressive academic background, holding an MSW from the University of Toronto, where she specialized in Social Service Administration, an Executive MBA from Saint Mary’s University, and a BA in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Waterloo.
Before joining KANS, Tamsyn ran a private practice providing counseling to children, youth, adults, and families. Beyond her professional expertise, Tamsyn’s dedication to community shines through her volunteer work coaching with Special Olympics in Halifax. In her downtime, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
